ABOUT CLIF

EDUCATOR. ACTIVIST. ADVOCATE. LEADER.

Clif Marsiglio works with and for the people of Indianapolis. For twenty years, he has pushed for real change by improving public education, closing the mental health gap, and standing up for better housing and fairer opportunities for people facing tough times.
As a change management specialist, Clif rebuilds broken systems in education, public safety, and government so they truly serve people. His advocacy continues this work by cutting through bureaucracy, demanding accountability, and urging agencies to address problems they might overlook. He believes real progress comes from tough conversations and refusing to accept the same old excuses.

Clif has academic training and clinical experience in mental health. He studied at Indiana University and Martin University, earning a Master’s in Community Psychology to better understand how inequality and social systems affect well-being. This perspective shapes his advocacy, as he believes systemic problems need systemic solutions.
On the Near East Side, Clif helps rebuild trust between the community and the police. He leads efforts that focus on compassion, harm reduction, and accountability instead of punishment. He serves on the boards of the Citizens Alliance for Public Safety (CAPS) and the Near East Side Community Organization, making sure neighborhood voices are heard and real solutions come from those who experience the issues daily.

Clif is a former musician, entrepreneur, and technologist who built his career where creativity meets innovation. He started and led two companies, including Sonikmatter, a sound technology business that combined art and AI before it was common. Years before AI was widely known, he worked with a research group linking Indiana University, MIT, and Duke University to develop AI applications and show their value at a time when this technology felt more like fantasy.

Personal Life

At home in Holy Cross, Clif shares life with his partner Amy and her two children, who keep him grounded, laughing, and sometimes questioning his own advice. He’s a cyclist, a neighbor, and dad to Indigo, his over-energetic German Shepherd. Their home buzzes with creativity and motion — family bike rides, neighborhood cleanups, and late-night brainstorming sessions.

When not in the community, Clif can usually be found tinkering — soldering iron in hand, surrounded by circuits, 3D printers, and far too many LEGO projects. A lifelong learner and tech enthusiast, he’s always chasing the next innovation or finding new ways to make technology work for people.

Amy, a wetlands scientist by day and costumer by night, often ropes Clif into wearing elaborate outfits at conventions — proof that love sometimes means leaning into the absurd. And as a self-proclaimed space nerd, Clif never misses a NASA launch or a chance to look up at the stars and dream bigger.
